Janey Loves Natural anti ageing skincare from Inlight

At last a brilliant organic brand formulated by the wonderful Dr Mariano Spiezia, Mariano and his wife Loredana have created something very special with this range.

This is a naturopathic doctor who really knows about skin, Inlight have a great range of products that have no contraindications with homeopathic remedies and I’m a big fan of their deep cleansing salve and their facial oil is wonderful but lets focus just for a second on anti-aging, something very relevant to all of us !.

The appearance of wrinkles is linked on one hand to the how we move our face, its literally connected to emotions and psychological factors, but on the other hand its linked to the natural ageing process influenced by many life style factors (food, sun exposure, smog, pollution, lack of sleep etc.) .  We can’t stop the ageing process of course but it  can be “controlled” or “slowed down” by having a correct life style and correct diet, rich in vitamins, antioxidants and vital nutritional factors. To keep away wrinkles you also need a cosmetic routine based on moisturising oils rich in antioxidants, Vitamin E, essential fatty acids, chlorophyll and enzymes.
Mariano and his wife Loredana have created something very special with this range.
-
I'm a very big fan of facial ols, particularly olive oil, jojoba oil, rose hip oil, all rich in Vitamin E and EFA, protect, soften and moisturise the skin reducing the evaporation of the “internal water “, and have an antioxidant and protective action against UV rays. Many are the herbs available in Nature that encourage production of collagen together with astringent and anti-ageing properties.   However wrinkles don’t miraculously disappear if covered up (sadly) , they need to be “treated” and not even moisturising is enough to keep them at bay.  The skin needs to be well nourished and well fed in order to keep young and healthy. This is why a beauty daily regime full of antioxidants is essential.
Inlight suggest you get started with:their

INLIGHT organic skincare anti-ageing Trio -

ORGANIC FLORAL FACE TONIC, 100% organic ingredients*
Ecellent blend of fragrant floral waters will freshen and gently cleanse the face without drying the skin.   Rose, cornflower, lavender and chamomile with their well-known toning, astringent and soothing qualities also promote cell regeneration whilst grapefruit seed extract is a gentle antiseptic.

Complete the regime with the - :
ORGANIC LINE SOFTENER, 100% organic
Deeply restorative, this miracle balm has been formulated to reducing the appearance of lines and as excellent for the treatment of scar tissue, pronounced stretch marks and darkened patches from sun damage.  Shea butter and macadamia oil, evening primrose and sunflower oil. Janey Loves the Nutri-sqEase Max Juicer from Wholistic Research

One of my favourite online stores is the Wholistic Research company, they sell a huge range of products and always seem to be at the cutting edge of whats new in water filters, ionisers, sprouting kits, light boxes, emf protection et al plus of course juicers and blenders, well imagine my delight when they told me about the Nutrisqueese max

You know I’m a huge fan of juicing, and of course we all know that in an ideal world we’d all use masticating ‘slow juicers’ but the problem is I’m time poor and I’m making juice every morning for 6 of us before rushing out to get the kids to school so I’ve always made do with a fairly basic whole fruit centrifugal juicer, with a high rpm speed which I know isn’t the best for health, but at last there is a new revolution in juicers !

The Nutri-SquEASE Max Slow Juicer is a masticating juice extractor that uses the new patented Low Speed Technology System (LSTS). It is called a “Slow Juicer” because it operates at only 85 RPM and uses a mere 150 Watts of energy, instead of 6,000 to 24,000 RPM and up to 1,500 Watts of energy like a typical centrifugal “High Speed” juicer.

But don’t let the name fool you, this Slow Juicer actually juices faster than most centrifugal juicers and expels much drier pulp with a much higher yield of juice that doesn't seperate, so you're left with drier pulp and less to need to throw away.

Its a lower RPM but interestingly it juices faster than many high RPM juicers.    Its nice and small so doesn't take up too much workspace and to make sure the flavour of one juice doesn't taint the next, you can just pour water through it between juices.   Best of all this machine makes richer juice, it keep its original colour and doesn't oxidise as quickly, most importantly you've got the maximim nutrients and you can really taste the difference.

This versatile machine also makes fab ice creams and you can buy a nut milk bag and make your own healthy nut milks too.

Really great value and a special offer right now at

Organic Perfume rocks !

Janey Loves Rich Hippie Organic Perfume from Beauty Bazaar

As someone who promotes natural skincare and beauty products I'm often asked if I can recommend a great 100 per cent natural perfume, up until recently I've advised people to make their own blends using essential oils but at last I've found an excellent funky new brand.    Beautybazaar.co.uk bring us the fabulous 100 per cent natural and certified organic range of perfumes, eau de toilettes and roll-ons that smell great and are good for our health and the environment also.

By the way chemical scents are responsible many people say for triggering asthma attacks, headaches and insomnia, and some are endocrine disrupters, (they'll play havoc with your hormones)  some of the chemicals have also managed to end up in fish so the food chain will be affected also.

Back to the good news then, Beauty Bazaar sell little samples so you can test out the fragrance you like, bear in mind the staying power of the perfume won't be as long as your usual chemical brand, probably only staying on your skin for 2-4 hours but this gives you an opportunity to save the sensual pleasure of re-applying !

25 organic perfumes to choose from with funky names like Rock Star, Foxy Lady, Hoochie Coochie and you can choose from Eau de Parfum Roll-On, Perfume Roll-On or the Perfume Bottle.

Natorigin, gorgeous organic make-up

Janey Loves the wonderful organic make-up range from Natorigin

You may have seen in the press recently that the lovely Gail Porter is the brand ambassador for a brilliant range from Natorigin.  I love it too, great colours, 100% natural, Certified organic
Approved by the vegetarian society, its also suitable for sensitive skin.
Lipsticks
I especially love the lipsticks, they're hypoallergenic lipsticks formulated with orchid extract to give an extremely soft and smooth texture. They are very rich in waxes (organic carnauba wax, organic candelilla wax, organic beeswax), organic shea butter and oils (organic sweet almond oil, organic jojoba seed oil, sunflower seed oil, organic marula seed oil, organic castor seed oil) to both moisturise and protect the lips, keeping them soft and supple. Lanolin free.

The packaging is nice too with proper powder and blusher compacts complete with a little mirror and my lipstick lasts for ages unlike many natural brands.
They have a good range of other skincare and beauty products too.
www.natorigin.co.uk

The face powders are great also.
NATorigin face powders are naturally silky, velvety and extremely soft. Formulated with ultra-micronised shells of organic argan nuts from the Tree of Life.   Argan oil is fast becoming big news in the beauty industry for its incredible moisturising and repairing properties - the oil from the Argan nut has been used by the Berber women of Morocco for centuries, to keep their hair and skin full of moisture in dry desert conditions.
The powders are softening and anti-free radical and give a light finish with long-lasting cover.
Allergy UK approved Natorigin are the only products of their type to hold this mark, its important because many products may be natural or even organic but not necessarily allergy free.

Beat the bulge - naturally with Dr Marilyn Glenville

Janey Loves Dr Marilyn Glenville 'lose the bulge' programme

I'm delighted to be able to big-up and really recommend a fellow author and expert.

Dr Marilyn Glenville PhD is the UK’s leading nutritionist specialising in women’s  health.

As we get older many of us have a tendency to gather fat around the middle, especially if we a re 'apple shaped' it difficult it is to lose it.  Your arms and legs may be acceptable looking, but the middle bit, from your bust to your groin - seems to defy all attempts to diet and exercise. Perhaps your clothes feel uncomfortable, your waistband is too tight, you’ve got a gaping blouse and a “muffin top” layer of fat pouring over the waistband of your jeans or worst of all – you’ve been asked when your next baby is due.!

What you may not know is how dangerous the fat around your middle really is (more so than fat on your thighs or bottom), increasing your risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and cancer (especially breast cancer).  Because of where the fat sits on your body, normal diets, even rigorous exercise regimes rarely work.

Ballooning waistlines

Research from the Department of Health in 2005, has shown that Britons now have the fattest stomachs in history.  Between 1993 and 2004, women’s waistlines ballooned
Figures published in 2004 showed that between 1951 and 2005, women’s waists have increased by 6.5in (16.5cm).

We have also become generally taller and larger but there is an enormous difference between the 1.5in gain in height, bust and hips and the 6.5in gained on the waist.   There is no doubt that we have lost the traditional hourglass figure (synonymous with a pear shape) and women have become more apple shaped with all its health risks.

So by following the recommendations from the excellent book 'fat around the middle' you'll not only get rid of fat around your middle, but you will also be doing the best you possibly can to prevent health problems in the future. Short term, you get to look better.  Long term? You live longer. It’s as simple as that.

Dr marylin Glenville explains the cause of the problem and how to address it, she unravels the issues of food cravings, how to calculate your body mass index.  She advises on eating healthily, making sure you don’t skip breakfast and including essential fatty acids, taking the right kind of exercise, how to address stress and importantly the correct supplements to take, she has her own range and shes devised formulations that have the correct ratios of certain vitamins and minerals so that you don’t have to take 3 tablets from 10 different bottles every day !
Shes formulated two supplements for The Natural Health Practice that contains all of the above.  They are called NutriPlus and AminoPlus and are available from www.naturalhealthpractice.com or 0845 8800915),

By the way its not about dieting, she recommends eating little and often and ensuring a bit of protein with every meal, this is a very realistic way of eating

She offers consultations too. For more in depth information look on Marilyn’s website www.marilynglenville.com

Eco2life - really green cleaning products

I'm a big fan of natural and eco cleaning products but sometimes get fed up with schlepping huge containers from the supermarket or health shop, the containers are mostly water anyway and I've also noticed that some of the so called 'eco' brands are indeed sustainable in terms of packaging but still contain some pretty scary synthetic chemicals.

Enter into my world then - Eco2life - a brilliant refill and resuse system with really natural ingredients that actually work. It’s made from naturally derived readily biodegradable ingredients: Coconut, Corn, Sugar Cane and Vegetable derived surfactants. There are No Silicate or Caustics, no Petroleum Solvents, no Parabens, no Phosphates and it’s Chlorine Free.

Well when it arrived I thought Planet Earth had literally sent me a tiny sample and thats when I realised just how brilliant their refill and reuse system is. Top eco credentials !
You simply fill your empty eco2life spray bottle about 2/3 full with cold tap water, add the contents of the little eco2life refill, gently fill the bottle with cold tap water, insert the spray trigger in to the bottle and screw closed until tight, give the bottle a few light shakes and your are ready to go
Brilliant ! There is no shlepping of ‘water’ back and forth to the supermarket, dramatically reducing land fill, requiring less production, less energy, less packaging

I’m told its been Scientifically tested and proven by 'SATRA' to be as good if not better than the leading brand in the sector

Theres an excellent multi surface cleaner, a floor cleaner and a glass cleaner and I'm hoping they'll find a way of introducing laundry liquid.

Live Wheatgrass - raw and living superfood!

I'm a huge fan of fresh wheatgrass, the powders are excellent for when you're travelling but recently I've really got into live Wheatgrass, you can grow your own in trays but even quicker and easier is to buy frozen wheatgrass.   I was thrilled to hear about Live Wheatgrass who ship out live field grown wheatgrass in little shot sizes that are stored in the freezer.     Why drink wheatgrass juice ?   Well its a raw and living super food, packed full of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino-acids and optimal chlorophyll all of great benefit to your health.   Heres a few factoids for you......

·         Wheatgrass juice is one of the riches sources of chlorophyll on this planet
·         One ounce of wheatgrass juice contains 13 times more vitamin A than lightly broccoli
·         There is the same amount of Vitamin E in just 1 ounce of Wheatgrass juice as there is in 700g (1.5lb) of lightly boiled broccoli.
·         Vitamin B complex – wheatgrass juice contains all 8 B vitamins

These shots are great as they are affordable at around £1 a day if you buy around 3 months supply.   I was originally concerned that vital nutrients wil be lost in the freezing but Im assured that its a tiny amount as its frozen immediately.   Live Wheatgrass are the
only company in the UK and Europe, that grow their wheatgrass outside on organic fields  in organic natural soil. It is grown for 2-3 months and has therefore had the time to mature naturally under the sun so that  means higher levels of vitamins and minerals, no sugar and no mould. Just 100% pure instantly frozen juice.

You can drink the shot as it is or if you prefer add it to a small glass of apple juice to taste.   I often make a dark green smoothie, with one apple, spinach, cucumber, celery and then blend the lot with a chunk of advocado and a wheatgrass shot straight from the freezer (it acts like an ice cube !)

This company are so convinced of the  health benefits of the wheatgrass juice, that if you don't feel the benefits after one month they will refund you 110% on your first one month order.  !   Also you can get one extra weeks worth free when with your first order when you type 'janeyloves' into the checkout  By the way it arrives in a huge container so I was initially concerned about the packaging but this excellent company come and collect it from you and re-use.  I even reuse the little plastic containers so nothing goes to waste.   www.livewheatgrass.co.uk

Living Nature 100% natural skincare and make-up

I’m so thrilled to be able to trial and promote Living Nature - 100% pure, certified natural skin care and cosmetics range from New Zealand.   Their range is really extensive, I’m a huge fan of their make-up – currently their lipstick and tinted moisturisers are my new best friends !

Living Nature founded in 1987, in New Zealand, was one of the world’s first companies to produce a skin care line without the use of synthetic preservatives or parabens.  Using the native healing plants of New Zealand that are organic and wild crafted, Living Nature is a pioneer in blending science and nature to create high performance, naturally potent botanical products.  None of their products contain synthetic preservatives such as parabens, alcohol, phenoloxyethanol, sodium lauryl sulphate, artificial fragrances, phthalates and petroleum and mineral based oils along with other chemical nasties and they’re certified natural under the strict standards of BDIH, Germany, a world-leading independent auditor of natural skin care and cosmetics.

They have the best makeup remover I’ve come across, a brilliant facial oil The Radiance night oil and the Firming flax serum which has been voted winner the skin serum category of the natural health and beauty awards/

Its an  anti-ageing treatment that effectively firms, smoothes and softens the skin to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and
Its scientifically-proven to benefit the health and beauty of skin.  In-vitro tests, at the highly respected ABICH Laboratories in Italy, confirmed that the advanced, all-natural formulation of Living Nature’s Firming Flax Serum maximises the healing and renewal process of the skin that takes place during sleep.   Crucially, Firming Flax Serum was shown to increase synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid, which is naturally produced by skin and gives it its firmness and protection against moisture loss, by up to 86% after 48 hours after exposure.

Active Manuka Honey is included in this unique rejuvenating serum for its ultra-moisturising, nourishing, rejuvenating and protecting benefits.  Manuka Honey also possesses special antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that help stimulate the body’s natural repair processes,  It also contains Harakeke, (I confess I'd never heard of that before) - the New Zealand Flax plant also provides Living Nature’s Firming Flax Serum with intense soothing, hydrating, antiseptic and healing benefits and Rosehip oil is included for its potent antioxidant properties that help prevent signs of ageing on the skin.

I’ve been applying it before bedtime and I’ve just realised you can mix it with a drop of their Radiance night  oil for an even more intensive treatment.  You'll find Living Nature in some health stores and -

Doidy cup from Bickiepegs - natural and healthy alternative to spouted cups and bottles

Is your little one sucking frantically on a plastic trainer cup ?  this could change everything !

If you’ve just welcomed a new addition to the family or you know someone who has, I want to tell you about a revolutionary product that you simply must have, I came across the Doidy cup when my little girl was a few months old and I was really fed up I hadn’t known about it for my other 3 kids, I’d done some research and found that speech therapists don’t recommend the usual plastic training cups that babies drink from as they were seeing children aged 5 and over with speech problems due partly to the use of spouted training cups.  I've never liked them either, I always worried about the plastic especially when it got scratched and if you’ve ever tried to drink from one of those cups you’ll know just what an odd shape you have to force you mouth into to get anything through the spout.

They come in a great range of colours and the unique design helps children to drink from a rim rather than forcing their lips into an unnatural position to drink from a spout or bottle.
I'm not a fan of the plastic and importantly Doidy cups are made from food safe materials and don't contain bisphenol, pvc or phthalates.

You can use them from 3 months or earlier and they're fine for expressed breast milk, recommended by health professionals and  by the national Childbirth trust.

You can buy them at lots of nursery outlets and John Lewis and from
Yes - the company behind the Doidy cup are also behind ......................

Bickiepegs teething biscuits, a unique brand developed many years ago by a leading Harley St Paediatrician and used for many years in royal nurseries

They’re not wheat and gluten free but they do contain
matural wheatgerm and wheatflour.   Theres no added sugar, salt, additives, colourings or chemicals and they are handmade in a dedicated bakery in Scotland

Of course the idea of the teething biscuits is to encourage chewing skills to develop correctly by exercising the jaws

They're recommended by health professionals, dentists and midwives, you can find them in chemists, supermarkets and at -

Hayfever kit and natural summer remedies from Weleda

Weleda are one of my all time favourite companies, they were founded in 1921 (long before 'organic and sustainable was fashionable !)  and have consistently been a leading brand of natural
beauty and healthcare.  Their natural remedies are based on their anthrosophical principles.   Best of all they really work !

Lets start with hayfever.  I'm lucky enough not to be suffering this year but have passed this on to a friend with sore eyes and a streaming nose, so far its working a treat !  The Hayfever kit offers two solutions in one handy pack.  The homeopathic remedy Mixed Pollen 30 which has a comprehensive mixture of plant pollens, the ones most likely to trigger hayfever symptoms.   The soothing Rhinodoron Nasal Spray, which helps to clear the nasal passages as it contains organic aloe vera to moisturise and calm the irritation.  The Hayfever kit is 100 per cent natural and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
These are all essentials for my summer natural medicine kit so thanks to Weleda for allowing me to review such great products.  Watch this space -  lots more to come on Weledas gorgeous skincare and beauty products also
Other great summer travel remedies from Weleda – perfect for the family medicine cupboard include ......

Calendula Lotion and ointment for cuts and grazes, always my first choice for the kids and I was lucky enough to visit Weleda's beautiful biodynamic garden and harvest some marigolds as used in their calendula lotions.
Calendolon Ointment to soothe cuts and minor wounds
Melissa Comp Drops for nausea (useful for travel sickness) and minor holiday tummy troubles
Arnica Ointment for bumps and bruises, an old favourite and don't underestimate the effect of Arnica, we use it constantly.
Combudoron Lotion for insect bites
Rhinodoron Nasal Spray (as contained in the hayfever kit) great for in-flight dry nose with air conditioning, and to soothe sore noses irritated by dust and swimming pool chemicals

Green People natural suncare for all the family

Green People have long been one of my favourite companies and I’m particularly impressed by their excellent sun protection range.   You know my take on it - best of all is cover up or stay in the shade but for the times when you need to apply sun creams you absolutely need to opt for the most natural you can find and Green People suncare is made with 80 per cent organic ingredients and they are really effective.

I especially love the Oy ‘Face the Sun’ SPF 15 – most sun creams feel too heavy for the face but this is nice and light and they make very handy trial sizes, great for popping in your handbag or pocket in case the sun comes out !

For the kids I use the No Scent Children’s sun lotion and again there are trial sizes.  The range is extensive, there’s lots of options and even an excellent Fake tan.

The difficulty with sun protection is the confusion between the UVA and UVB rays, which are harmful and which do we need ?   I interviewed Green People’s sun-care expert Ian Taylor at the Natural products show, check the vid for his interview -

You can find Green People suncare in independent health stores and online at

Tiana raw organic cold pressed virgin Coconut Oil

If you've read any of my books you'll know I'm a huge fan of Coconut oil. I'm thrilled to have found Tiana - a wonderful company who make not just organic virgin coconut oil but also gorgeous coconut flour (makes yummy breads and cakes) and a beautiful rose and coconut cream. Whats unique about Tiana coconut oil is that its cold pressed from fresh organic coconuts and comes in recyclable glass jars which is excellent for prolonging its life, keeping it free from plasticisers and contaminants.

They do say don't put anything on your skin that you can't eat and you can and should eat this, it doesn't degrade at high temperatures so its great for cooking, you can also use  it in place of butter, use for baking or add to smoothies and being very high in lauric acid (the main component of breast milk) its a wonderful functional food, being great for althletes and excellent for weight loss. (some stats on its nutritional values below)

Its also though a wonderful moisturiser for all skin types and a brilliant hair conditioner. Lather it on leave overnight and wash off a couple of times in the morning. Its a great intensive hand cream and great for feet too.

By the way if you're thinking (guys maybe) I do NOT want to smell like a beach babe, you're remembering the synthetic whiff of coconuts from conventional sun lotions, virgin coconut oil smells only very faintly of ...well... coconuts,  but by the time its absorbed into your skin it really has no fragrance.

I can't recommend it highly enough and Tanya who runs Tiana Coconut oil is such a passionate advocate !

Thermomix TM - the only food processor that does everything!

Trust me guys I'm no domestic goddess but with this machine I'm getting there - I'm all for natural living but if you can one thing on the end of a plug that will change your life the way the Thermomix has changed mine I say 'Go girl'  (and guys  !)
I've always hated gadgets and food processors especially, having to change blades and bowls, having something man enough to cope with grinding really hard nuts to make nut butters and so on without starting to smoke has alwasy been a hassle, as I got more into raw food it became harder to make the food I wanted  with just a regular and a basic food processor - so answer ?   Sell aforementioned kit on ebay and invest in the one and only kitchen gadget you'll ever need The Thermomix TM
Heres some 'factoids' about the Thermomix

Lots of kitchen machines and gadgets all rolled into one compact unit, in my opinion wipes the floor with its main competitors such as the Vitamix

Whether you’re a domestic goddess or raw foodie you’ll love it.

One bowl one blade, really easy to clean

Very sturdy and robust, doesn’t fall apart !

Great for utterly smooth purees - this benefit is fantastic for those who have a medical condition that means they require pureed food, eg difficulty swallowing, would be brilliant for every hospital kitchen to have one.   of course great for cooking baby food too

Saves space in the kitchen - you don’t actually need a kettle, blender, food processer, grinder et al. It's perfect for students, forget buying all the other stuff.

Food allergies - great for coeliacs – you can grind your own flours from gluten-free grains

Fab for raw food preparation, making nut butters etc , and you can control the termperature if you want heat to food to below boiling - it has a setting to heat to 37°C

Excellent for green smoothies and Gaspacho but also brilliant for making quick soups.

Uses less than half the energy of an induction hob – minimal carbon footprint

Saves time, effort and money, you can  I save around £3000 per year on groceries for a family of four because you never need to buy prepared sauces, soups or cake mixes etc.

Tabitha James Kraan - holistic and organic hair salon

'Life is an endless struggle full of frustrations and challenges but eventually you find a hair stylist you like' Anon

Yep its official I am one of those bonkers women that travels 100 miles to get my hair done but hey its worth it. Having started down the slippery slope of colouring my hair (why oh why when I was a natural blonde ??) I am committed to the upkeep but want as little damage as possible to my tresses. Enter Tabitha James Kraan a truly holistic hairdresser, at her salons in Stow on the wold and Broadway in the Cotswolds she offers a unique service - not only organic and mineral colours which are far less harmful than conventional hair colours but also a full 'hair make0ver'

Tabitha offers advice you wouldn't usually imagine you'd hear from a hair stylist, she wrote a great section in my latest book 'Look Great Naturally without ditching the lipstick') she reocmmends not washing your hair too often, using hair oils and good old fashioned hair brushing ! I stop short of the hundred strokes a day but certainly since I've taken her advice my hair is looking much shinier and healthier.

A visit to the salon is a luxurious experience indeed, you're plied with herbal teas or proper capuccinos, delicious treats and best of all while your hair is being washed and massaged (oh yes !) you lie on a wondrous massage chair - honestly I nearly drifted off !

Tabitha really cares about holistic wellbeing and uses organic products such as the brilliant John Masters Organics and you can buy those products along with Dr Hauscka and the excellent Jane Scrivner range of skincare. Watch this space cos Tabitha is launching her own very exciting hair range soon. http://tabithajameskraan.com/

Janey Loves Viridian Nutrition

One of my favourite companies is Viridian Nutrition

I love their Organic Echinacea, their milk thistle tabs and for omega 3 oils they're excellent too.

I sneak some of the kids omega 3 oil into their smoothies (ssh don't tell !)
Viridian have dozens of nutritional oils within their 170+ range of supplements, they have strict standards including only organic, cold-pressed, raw, virgin oils which are packaged in glass under a blanket of nitrogen to ensure freshness.

Viridian are regularly named ‘Best Buy’ by the Good Shopping Guide for the company’s commitment to pure ingredients, green business practices
amazing charity donation programme, which has so far donated more than £100,000 to a selection of children’s and environmental charities.

Viridian doesn’t bump up the price to make these donations, it is simply part of the company’s ethos.

Janey Loves - haymax for hayfever

D H (darling husband) got hayfever for the first time last year, its weird how it can hit you at any time, just different pollens I guess but I really saw up close how debilitating it can be, I have friends who take 3 weeks off work every year its so bad ! Help is at hand in a one hundred per cent natural way - hurrah for Haymax

Haymax is a brilliant barrier balm and you literally apply it to your nostrils to stop the pollen entering.acts as a trap – or a blocker.

If applied to the bottom of the nose traps some of the pollen before it enters the body less pollen in the body, there’s less for the body to react against. Less pollen – Less sneezing

Lots of trials done and great results

Its Drug- free, Organic, and Natural with NO drowsy side effects. (Shouldn’t drive or operate machinery whilst taking anti-histamines - no problem with HayMax)

It’s suitable for Pregnant, and breast feeding women, and blokes - everyone really!

Kids - Hay fever causes a drop of 1 grade in exams, and (drowsy) anti histamines also cause a drop of one grade in exams!

3 types to choose from, pure, lavender or aloe vera, all have the same pollen blocking properties.

Choose smell they like best and/or the commonly accepted properties of the variety. HayMax Pure™ contains no essential oils. It’s perfect for those who don’t like the smell of Lavender or Frankincense, or who are particularly sensitive. Lavendar is – well lavender, very healing and therapeutic

Aloe Vera has no added fragrance and can soothes sore nose at the same time as it blocks the pollen.

It’s the brainwave of Max as in Haymax who suffered from hayfever for years till he found this wonder solution – available in lots of high street chemists, some supermarkets and at - www.haybalm.f2s.com

Janey Loves....Udo's choice

I'm guessing you've hear of the importance of Essential Fatty Acids and they are exactly that - essential ! People often ask me what supplements I take regularly and efa's are at the top of the list, in fact I did an Omega levels test (with http://www.idealomegatest.com/) and the results gave me a bit of a shock, despite the fact that I have a pretty good diet I was only showing about 30 per cent omega 3 when the optimum level is 70 per cent ! Of course stress, coffee, alcohol etc can deplete your levels (and you KNOW I can be queen of stress and I'm imperfectly natural so partial to a cappucino and a glass of wine !) so I realised I needed to up my levels.

When it comes the efas the balance is all important and thats why Udo's choice oil is great cos its exact blend of omega 3, 6 and 9 thats needed for optimum health and wellbeing, (a ratio of 2 1 1 omega 3 6 9) I didn't fancy fish oils so this organic and vegetarian oil is perfect, its a blend of flax, sesame and sunflower seed oils as well as oils from evening primrose, rice germ, oat germ and coconut. of course you don't cook with it but I put it on salads and add a decent tablespoon full to smoothies.

You can also get capsules if you prefer but I just make sure I've got a bottle of the oil in the fridge. I'm sure my skin is looking better and my hair a bit silkier since using it. Go to http://www.udoschoice.co.uk/ and you can buy it at my store also if you're shopping for other stuff !

They've also just brought out a herbal tea Flor-essence so gonna be trialling that...watch this space.

Janey Loves....Water Dechlorination shower filter

At so many of the events I speak at across the UK I meet people who tell me they've read my books, ditched the chemicals in their personal care products and in their home and yet they still have irritated skin or eczema. After all the usual suspects have been ruled out (dairy intolerance etc) it often comes down to the water they're bathing in. Its so easy to forget that in the UK our water is very hard and heavily chlorinated and we all know that chlorine is incredibly drying to the skin. (you know how you feel and smell just after swimming in a chlorinated pool even after showering !)

The answer my friend is hanging from a tap near you ! The first time I sampled the dechlorination bath ball I thought it didn't' work, I could still smell chlorine....until my husband told me he had forgot to use it when he ran the bath ! Now I never bathe without it, it softens the water and removes 100 per cent of the chlorine. The shower filter fits onto most shower attachments and cos its transparent you can see when it needs replacing cos the crystals change colour. My bath ball lasts me at least a year (and no I'm not too mucky...I bath the kids too !) and the shower filter even longer so they're great value.

Janey Loves...Sun Chlorella 'A'

With the amount I've had to do revamping janeyleegrace.com lately I've needed an energy boost ! Last summer I managed to grow wheatgrass but I've found it tricky in the winter. I'm thrilled then to be able to stoke up on green algae in the form of Sun Chlorella supplements, I've been chucking in 5 at a time and literally feeling my energy lift !

Sun Chlorella ‘A’ is a Japanese natural green algae whole food supplement - and contains a staggering range of nutrients including around 10% fibre, and due to its special component - Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) - it re-stimulates the growth and repair of cells, including the growth of good bacteria (Lactobacilli) four-fold once it’s absorbed, which aids digestive health. My naturopath recommends it cos it can improve Irritable Bowel syndrome but in truth it has so many benefits. We'll be offering an opportunity to sample this great product and theres a competition just opened too. I'm also thinking of getting the liquid version for the kids...watch this space.
